The focus should be member outcomes
It’s really disappointing as a member to see our union conducting themselves in a toxic, blame shifting way, instead of coming up with solutions given how far members have fallen behind.
Nominations for union elections closed yesterday, so now any use of union resources to target candidates will be a breach of Section 190 of the Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Act 2009, which prohibits the use of union property to influence the outcome of an election.
PSA Change 2025
We are running because members deserve a union that’s built on action, not distraction. One that sets real goals, communicates clearly, and delivers.
Between us, we have over 15 years of experience working at unions. We started our careers with unions, and we’ve stayed committed to members coming first.
We know it’s the members that matter most. We took leave without pay and reduced to part-time to get out to worksites and talk to as many members as possible. Over the last 8 months, we have met with hundreds of members, who, like us, are frustrated, struggling and desperate for a union that listens, and acts.
Charlotte Watson
Charlotte began her career at the PSA and spent a decade in unions fighting for member outcomes. She led large-scale industrial action across schools, hospitals and the health public sector. She delivered results by drawing on her strategic thinking, strong communication and negotiation skills. Charlotte knows the decline in PSA members’ pay and conditions must end. A PSA member and unionist, Charlotte will stand with members and provide the strong leadership needed to make the PSA a force for real change.
Celia Brougham
Celia is a staunch unionist who started out in retail banking, quickly stepping up as a Workplace Rep before being recruited into the union. She knows how to organise, connect, and fight for members. Celia believes our union must bring members and reps together across workplaces, disciplines, and regions. We’re stronger when we act together. She stands for a union that shows up for its members, and she won’t settle for less than we deserve. With broad sector knowledge and real commitment, Celia will back Charlotte to deliver the wins that members need.
PSA Change is a team of members from across the public sector. We will share their stories in the coming weeks.
Together, PSA Change will deliver:
Money in your pocket now—through EB and reduced union fees.
Transparent updates and accountability at every step.
A union culture focused on outcomes, not internal politics.
Comprehensive delegate/rep training and more involvement with branch matters.
And more, stay tuned.
We’re proud of our values, our experience and our vision.
Thank you for your support.
Let’s make this campaign about what really matters—the members.
