PSA Change—the time is now

It’s time to vote for change

If you haven’t met us yet, we’re PSA Change—a team of experienced, committed members running in the PSA election to rebuild a stronger, more effective, truly member-led union.

For too long, PSA leadership has been distant from our workplaces and the issues we face. Members deserve leaders who show up, listen, and act. We’ve spent over 1,000 hours of our own time—including unpaid leave—visiting worksites across the state to hear from members and build a plan for real change.

This election is your chance to vote for union leaders that fight harder, listen better, and deliver.

It’s disappointing that the current leadership isn’t offering real solutions, only attacking members who challenge the status quo. We cannot afford more of the same.

What we’re fighting for:

  • A more visible, workplace-focused union.

  • Leaders who listen—and act.

  • Stronger campaigns for better pay, safety, and conditions.

  • Pay increases that catch up what we’ve lost and lead in our state.

  • Conditions that reflect the real work you do.

  • A positive, democratic, member-first culture.

We’ve heard loud and clear that the classification structures are not working, pay has fallen behind and basic conditions are slipping away. ASOs are overlooked, OPS staff can’t progress, and professionals like those in IT aren’t properly recognised. In child protection, housing, CFS, SES, SA Health (including SA Pathology), and corrections—conditions are worsening and workloads keep growing.

PSA Change will deliver:

  • Real wages—claim lodged for up to 20%.

  • Lower fees—affordable membership.

  • Top-down reform—cut excessive leadership salaries.

  • Stronger representation—more disputes run, more wins for members.

  • Specialist support—dedicated teams for Housing, DCP, Corrections, CFS and Health (including SA Pathology).

  • Regional power—staff based in Port Augusta, Port Lincoln, Whyalla.

  • Better benefits—funeral, ambulance cover, and more.

  • In-house legal & safety teams—expert support when you need it.

  • Rep training & support—better connection between members and branch.

  • True independence—we’ll hold every government and CEO to account.

Ballots are being mailed now by the Australian Electoral Commission.
