We did It! PSA Change wins.

What an extraordinary result.

An emphatic win for real change in the PSA.

Charlotte Watson and Celia Brougham have been elected General Secretary and Assistant General Secretary in a landslide, marking a new chapter for union leadership built on transparency, energy and grassroots action. It’s believed this is the first time in history two women have unseated an incumbent leadership team in a contested union election of this kind in Australia.

L-R: Celia Brougham and Charlotte Watson

Across electorates, PSA Change candidates were overwhelmingly endorsed by members. This is a powerful mandate, not just for individuals, but for a movement built by members, for members.

This campaign has been extraordinary.

Volunteers, delegates, and supporters poured their hearts into this campaign - all driven by the same simple belief: that we deserve a stronger, fairer, more democratic union.

While not all PSA Change candidates were successful, their contributions to this campaign can’t be understated. Everyone involved in the PSA Change camp played an integeral part in creating this movement and will continue to do so going forward.

To everyone who stood up, spoke out, handed out flyers, had those workplace conversations, and cast their vote. Thank you. This victory is yours.

Now the real work begins.

Together, we’ll build the union we believe in. A union that listens. A union that acts. A union that wins.

PSA Change is here. It’s time to get to work.
